13 May 2004 – Raleigh, NC Workplace Options, the leading provider of work/life programs to corporate America, through partnerships with employee assistance (EAP) companies, today announced they have acquired the web content and technology platform of the former Epotec, Inc. Epotec, which ceased operations in 2003, was considered the premier provider of electronic content to the behavioral health industry. Addressing a wide variety of behavioral and other workplace topics, the best-in-class content offers individuals and employers the ability to obtain interactive information in three formats:

  • Quick Info Guides: providing brief, informative content;
  • Self-assessments: providing self-guided evaluation tools;
  • Personal Plans: helping participants map strategies for dealing with particular issues including: goal-setting, substance abuse prevention, etc.;

Resources are organized into categories, including: Parenting and Childcare , Aging and Elder Care, Health, Wellness, Mental Health, Personal Development and Management in Workplace.

Employers will find the Management in the Workplace topics of interest, which include effective interviewing techniques, running successful meetings, terminating employees, avoiding sexual harassment and other lawsuits, etc. Employers will also reap the benefits of giving employees useful interactive personal plans for time management, goal setting and memory improvement.

Workplace Options is updating the content and integrating it into a new Lessons for Life (SM) Learning module on WPO's Advantage website. Current clients who subscribe to the full web service will receive the new module at no additional charge. The Lessons for Life module may also be purchased separately.

"The addition of this remarkable content to our already leading Advantage web site gives our EAP customers and their end-users a wealth of highly interactive and popular content," says Alan King, chief operating office of Workplace Options. "In addition, it provides our clients with another powerful marketplace differentiator - a vivid example of WPO's on-going commitment to quality, value and innovation".
