1 June 2010 – Raleigh – Raleigh-based work-life services provider, Workplace Options, today announced the addition of Charlie Durban to its account management team. As senior account manager, Durban will provide oversight for customers in the U.S. Midwestern region via service, training, problem resolution and product education.
With more than 25 years of experience in the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and work-life services industry, Durban brings to Workplace Options a breadth of knowledge in the behavioral health field. He comes to Workplace Options from St. John’s Mercy Health Care, one of the largest hospital systems in St. Louis, where he served as account executive and business development manager.
Durban has much experience in clinical services, training and administration and has previously served as chief operating officer for global employee benefits provider PPC Worldwide. He also served at AT&T as the Midwest region EAP manager.
His ability to develop and maintain an effective and solid relationship with customers based on trust, service and respect has fueled Durban’s successful career. One of his greatest accomplishments was leading a team in China to earn the EAP business of a number of Fortune 500 companies.
Durban, a native of St. Louis, holds both a bachelor’s degree in English and education and master’s degree in counseling from the University of Missouri. A secondary master’s degree from Webster University in St. Louis provided Durban additional insight into business management.
"There are certain individuals who not only fit the bill for a specific position, but enhance its value. We feel that Charlie is one of those people," said Dean Debnam, chief operating officer for Workplace Options. "His strategic thinking and persistence at developing strong, enduring relationships built on trust exemplify Workplace Options’ commitment to our customers. We are excited to welcome him to the team."
