Some people argue that personality is fixed and cannot be changed. However, a number of studies show that behaviors and personalities can be adjusted by becoming more self-aware. 

An individual wanted to try mindfulness as a way to manage her anger and become friendlier. Working with a coach, she focused on breathing in positivity and exhaling negativity. She also began doing more things for herself, including spending time outdoors and exercising.  

During one session she mentioned that her friends had noticed a marked difference in her. She recognized the difference as well. As an example, she explained that in the past something like COVID-19 would have been a great source of stress for her. However, now that she had become more self-aware, she looked for the positives in a difficult situation.
