Workplace Options announced the launch of an innovative, new mobile app to help families easily coordinate tutoring, child care, and senior care within their networks of family, friends, and neighbors. The new My Family Care Network app allows parents and other caregivers to establish networks of care and support providers, making it easy to:
- alert contacts when care is needed
- trade care time with friends and neighbors
- pay network members for care when appropriate
- link with employer dependent-care subsidy programs for reimbursement
“The app provides an always-on means of contact to ask for help when needed, and an easy-to-use structure that mirrors the way friends and family coordinate care through informal connections,” says Alan King, President and Chief Executive Officer at Workplace Options. “That structure makes it simple to trade hours of care with friends and neighbors, or to pay for care when needed, while enhancing the important role of close family members and friends who choose to help out of kindness.”
The app enables users to set up two networks:
- a “close network” of friends and family who do not track hours of care or expect payment
- a “cooperative network” of people who are willing to provide care as an exchange of services or for an hourly rate, with hours tracked and payments made through the app
The app will be available for clients of Workplace Options’ employee wellbeing services. It will work on iPhone and Android devices.
