Although health organizations warn that older adults face greater risks associated with the coronavirus, many adult children are discovering that their parents continue to go out in public.  

That was the situation for an employee who called seeking resources for her parents. She wanted to minimize the number of errands they ran, despite their town’s quarantine orders.  

The work-life team worked with the employee to identify the various types of errands her parents performed. The team not only identified potential errand runners and home care agencies in the area that could assist, they also provided a list of retailers that delivered groceries and other essential items. 

The employee was thankful for the resources and hopeful that her parents would let others run their errands until the quarantine was lifted. She also mentioned that the contacts could be helpful in the future if her parents were no longer able to drive.
