On Tuesday, October 15, and Wednesday, October 16, 2024, Workplace Options (WPO) held its annual on-site Health Fair in Raleigh, NC. This two-day event brought together WPO members and partners to provide valuable resources and interactive activities around physical health, as well as prizes and refreshments for everyone to enjoy.
The Health Fair offered an excellent opportunity for face-to-face connections and access to a variety of health services.
At WPO, we believe that Health fairs are crucial in fostering workplace wellness. By creating a supportive environment where employees can prioritize their well-being, these events not only provide access to essential health services but also encourage employees to engage with wellness resources, connect with colleagues, and build a culture of health within the workplace.
As the Internal Wellness Manager and Corporate Fitness Trainer at WPO, Lauren Lisko has dedicated nearly a decade to promoting holistic health and well-being within the organization. She believes in the value of the health fair, stating, “The health fair has always been a cornerstone of our company culture, even before my time starting with WPO 9 years ago. Our commitment to holistic health and well-being as an organization is reflected not only outwardly to our clients, but also inwardly to our employees. We believe that the physical, mental, and emotional health of our employees is essential to fostering a thriving workplace. This event embodies our mission by promoting a comprehensive approach to health that empowers our team to take charge of their well-being.”

Event Highlights
This year’s Health Fair was a remarkable success. With a great turnout, attendees enjoyed valuable resources from WPO’s partners. As Lisko stated, “Preventative health is a key aspect of what we aim to communicate through the Health Fair. By offering resources, screenings, and interactive booths with great educational materials, we encourage our employees to engage in proactive health practices. This helps in identifying potential health issues early and reinforces the idea that taking care of oneself is a vital part of a balanced life.”
These offerings were designed with the employees in mind, promoting a holistic approach to health and well-being. From health screenings to fitness demonstrations, the Health Fair included offerings such as:
- Health Screenings: Provided by eHealth Screenings, these screenings offered essential health assessments to help employees stay informed about their health status.
- Flu Shots: Health Park Pharmacy administered seasonal flu shots to help employees stay healthy during the approaching colder months.
- Chair Massages: Relaxation was a highlight of the event, with chair massages from The NOW Massage of Raleigh Midtown proving to be a major highlight on the first day.
- Insurance and 401(k) Options: Representatives from Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and Ascensus provided insights into available options.
- Fitness Demonstrations: RowHouse of Raleigh Midtown offered engaging fitness demonstrations for attendees.
- Nutritional Activities: Summerfield Custom Wellness provided interactive nutritional activities to promote healthy eating.
- Skincare Assessments: Mayra from Skincare Reboot conducted personalized skincare assessments, helping employees enhance their self-care routines.
The event truly thrived with the help of its valued partners, including eHealth Screenings, Health Park Pharmacy, The NOW Massage of Raleigh Midtown, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, Ascensus, RowHouse of Raleigh Midtown, Summerfield Custom Wellness, and Skincare Reboot by Mayra, creating a fun and enriching environment for all participants.
Bringing WPO employees together to prioritize their health within the community proved to be a fun and enriching experience, highlighting its value in enhancing physical and mental well-being.
“We find that this event resonates strongly and has a profound and lasting impact on our employees.” Lisko adds, “Attendees often leave feeling more informed and empowered about their health choices. Many discover new resources available to them, engage in conversations about wellness, and establish connections with healthcare providers and wellness experts. This sense of community and support not only fosters individual growth but also strengthens our organizational culture.”
With enthusiastic participation and valuable contributions from our partners, the event fostered a strong sense of community. WPO is excited to build on this success and continue the initiative next year.
