A free resource created by the LGBTQIA+ Community for Everybody
Especially during these troubled times, you can celebrate PRIDE all year long by helping people from the LGBTQIA+ Community and their allies become better prepared to take charge of their emotional and personal safety.
Millions of people today face greater risks of bullying, harassment, isolation, and discrimination because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression—and even more people face harmful prejudice because of how they look, any kind of disability, what they believe, or other differences.
Robert Holgate, the generous donor who provided a start-up grant to develop and publish the initial Pridepower Safety Skills videos, says, “These are the skills I wish I had when I was a lonely gay teen growing up in a small midwestern town and facing intense harassment and rejection. I am so glad we can provide this resource to you now.”
Thanks to Robert’s support, Pridepower was created by and for members of the LGBTQIA+ Community and their allies to show how positive communication, relationship-building, and personal safety skills can help people be successful in handling problems that often harm their wellbeing.
