Live Well Wellness Global Coach Training Program Launches Continuing Education Classes

The Live Well Wellness Global Coach Training program, sponsored by Workplace Options, recently launched its first online continuing education courses for the general public. The National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) requires that National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coaches (NBC-HWC) to earn 36 continuing education credits every three years from an approved continuing education provider. The Live Well Wellness program became an NBHWC-approved continuing education provider in 2018, but this is the first time that its trainings are available to the general public.

“Workplace Options has over 10 years of experience providing coaching as part of its employee wellbeing offering,” shares Debbie Jongkind, Vice President of Global Coaching Services. “We developed the Live Well Wellness training so we could train our coaches internally. We elected to go through the rigorous process of becoming a NBHWC-approved training and education program because we wanted to align our training with the industry’s highest standards. Now, we are opening up our training to others interested in pursuing and continuing national board certification for health and wellness coaching.”

The following continuing education courses, worth one-credit hour each, have been recently released:

  • How Obstacles Become the Way: Revolutionizing Fitness
  • Compassion Fatigue
  • Listen to Your Body, Quiet Your Mind

As part of the Live Well Wellness program’s public launch, the “Listen to Your Body, Quiet Your Mind” class is being offered complimentary for a limited time. Additional classes will be posted on a rolling schedule.

In addition to offering continuing education classes, the Live Well Wellness program will roll out its full global coach training program in early 2021. Offered virtually, the full Live Well Wellness Global Coach Training program includes both synchronous and asynchronous learning and features 60 hours of core coach competency training and 18 hours of health- and wellness-specific modules. Graduates of the full program meet the training requirements to sit for the HWC-certifying exam to obtain the NBC-HWC credential, which is sponsored by the NBHWC and the National Board of Medical Examiners.

The Live Well Wellness Global Coaching Training program is also approved by the International Coach Federation (ICF) for 60 hours of Approved Coach Specific Training Hours (ACSTH). Graduates of the program meet the training requirements to apply for the ICF’s Associate Certified Coach credential (ACC).
