Leading provider of wellbeing solutions extends global footprint in Spain and Italy

Workplace Options (WPO), a leading provider of holistic health services for more than 79 million people around the world, announced the acquisition of Healthy Work, a Madrid-based organization committed to improving a company’s productivity, profitability, and overall wellbeing by helping employees via counseling, consulting, psychological help, crisis intervention, and life coaching.

For the past 18 years, Healthy Work was WPO’s local provider partner in Spain and Italy. During that time, WPO and Healthy Work formed a collective understanding about why in-the-moment, human-centric wellbeing support is key to meeting a person’s mental, physical, and practical needs.

In 2023, WPO expanded its global reach by opening two service centers in Central and South America: Montevideo, Uruguay and Monterrey, Mexico. This Healthy Work acquisition advances WPO’s mission, vision, and business principles: Reach, Relevance, Results. WPO acquired Healthy Work so that WPO’s reach and relevance in key markets, Spain, and Italy, would grow and succeed in improving access to results-driven wellbeing support.

“Our goals are growth, innovation, and transformation. The acquisition will allow WPO to help more people receive high-quality, immediate care, anytime and anywhere, with certified clinicians who speak their language and understand cultural nuances,” said Alan King, President, and CEO of WPO. “As an industry innovator for more than 40 years, WPO will cultivate a more resilient future for the world’s 8 billion people.”

WPO’s localized wellbeing services specialize in empowering organizations, in more than 200 countries and territories, to take holistic action for ensuring that their employees and their families thrive. The Healthy Work acquisition will expand WPO’s global footprint further so that innovative, human-powered services will be accessible to more Spanish-speaking communities, and WPO will widen its capabilities in responding to crisis events worldwide.

“Everyone at Healthy Work is proud to unite with WPO so that we may extend and enhance the services we currently provide in Spain and Italy,” said Miguel Cristobal, CEO of Healthy Work. “Our companies share the same passion for helping people by creating a customized, solution-focused approach to supporting employee needs on both a group and individual level.”
