Workplace Options, the world’s largest independent provider of employee wellbeing support solutions, was recently presented the “Best Delivery of Critical Incident Response Services” award by the International Employee Assistance Professional Association (EAPA). The award is given for exceptional response following a critical incident.

Workplace Options was recognized for its quick intervention following a series of terrorist suicide attacks in Sri Lanka. Overcoming a number of obstacles including a communication blackout and restricted access, Workplace Options delivered a large-scale, multi-pronged response that included telephonic and on-site trauma support to employees of client companies and their family members. Workplace Options also hosted two live, online seminars for employees and managers – Restore Your Resilience After the Terrorist Attack and Rebuilding Your Team’s Resilience in the Aftermath of a Terrorist Attack.

“Our Rapid Response Critical Incident team does a tremendous job of providing crisis support for employees in the wake of a tragedy,” explains Dean Debnam, Chief Executive Officer at Workplace Options. “The care and assistance they bring to individuals and families is an important first step in helping impacted workplaces recover.”

Lorene Lacey, Director of Global Crisis Response, accepted the award on behalf of Workplace Options. “This award speaks to the incredible teamwork shared between Workplace Options’ Incident Management team, Network Services, Account Management, and professionals that we work with around the globe.” shares Lacey. “Compassion drives all of us to provide excellent support to those impacted by a traumatic event.”

The award was presented to Workplace Options on September 27, during the EAPA 2019 Conference.
